Eltham Dominate the podium again! Read the full article to see individual results When the gun went off, the first 1km was down hill so it didn’t seem too bad, it flattened out a little before the hill climbing began. At the 6km mark I was 4 minutes behind the first train and very happy, in the distance I could hear the second train letting off it’s steam to let us know it was coming. Gee it makes your heart pump just a little bit faster and there was no way I was going to get stuck at the railway crossing and everyone around me had the same idea.I got to the finish line feeling like I had plenty left in the tank and in a time of 1 hour and 18 secs. I could see a group of our club mingling around the drink station. I walked over to be overjoyed when told our club had dominated the podium again. Luke Whitemore and Paul Attard had placed 2nd (43.58) & 3rd(44.21) respectively. Steve Hadley got a top 10 finishing crossing the line in 8th position. I thoroughly enjoyed the race and if you are looking for a challenging race in a great location, enter next year. It will be a big one with the Great Train Race having it’s 30th Birthday!!!!
