With very rough, wet and windy conditions we set off on the Brighton swim classic. Leanne Sheean was off first and came in second with a big smile on her face. The Men’s race was tough as Mike Gowan was taking on Kiwi Magic who competed in the Olympics for Butterfly. With a super start Mike was at the lead, but fitness proved to be the winner as the other swimmers roared ahead. A sting ray on the bottom and many waves crashing into his head saw Mike finish with a 4th. Rumour has it that Mike may have been duped out of 3rd place by another competitor who 'found' a short cut. A huge congratulations to Maiken Sedunary for an outstanding first Sea swim. A top 10 finish is Awesome!!!! Mike Gowan did take a spectacular catch for the prize giveaway so you may be the winner of some Christmas treats.
See you all at the next swim which is at Anglesea on the December 28th. |
